Ana, born in Germany, took on an executive management role in The Netherlands.

Ana had plenty of experience leading big teams and working in an international environment.

She felt confident that she will book results for the business and smoothen the relationship between the German HQ and the Dutch organization.

But as much as she has confidence in herself,

Ana came prepared to the Netherlands. She knew The Dutch were direct, appreciate a good discussion and value efficiency.

Ana grew up in Germany, which is where she developed her believes of what good leadership means to her.

Germans are more comfortable with hierarchy compared to the Dutch.

The Dutch are more focused on the implementation and actions, instead of understanding the theory.

Ana studied and invested time in learning about the Dutch culture.

But she was clueless on how her German cultural background played a part in how she would perceive the Dutch.

You can read 100 books and take several courses to prepare yourself on how to deal with 1 specific culture.

But those will never say something about ๐—ฌ๐—ข๐—จ๐—ฅ cultural perception and how ๐—ฌ๐—ข๐—จ will perceive others.

Or how you are perceived by someone from another cultural background.

With me you learn how to lead in a global economy.
